Adding a DKIM Record on Switchweb Hosting

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a security standard that helps to verify the authenticity of email messages. It does this by adding a digital signature to outgoing emails, which can then be verified by the receiving email server. This helps to prevent email spoofing, which is when a spammer sends an email that appears to be from a legitimate sender.

If you are using Switchweb hosting, you can add a DKIM record to your domain name to help protect your emails from spoofing. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Switchweb control panel.
2. Click on the Manage Hosting link.
3. Click on the Manage DNS link for the domain name that you want to add the DKIM record to.
4. Click on the Add Record button.
5. Select the TXT record type.
6. In the Name field, enter the selector for your DKIM record. This can be any value or name you like.
7. In the Value field, enter the DKIM signature that is provided by Switchweb.
8. Click on the Save button.

Your DKIM record will now be added to your domain name. It may take a few hours for the changes to propagate, but once they do, your emails will be protected by DKIM.

Here is an example of a DKIM record:

Selector: 202311051550 Value: “v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEB AQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQDc3598234567890ABCDE F1234567890ABCDEF12345678”

To verify that your DKIM record is working correctly, you can use the following tools:

• Mail Tester: https://www.mail-tester.com/

To use the DKIM Validator, simply enter your email address and click on the Validate button. If your DKIM record is working correctly, you will see a green checkmark next to the DKIM field.

To use Mail Tester, simply send an email to the address provided on the website. Mail Tester will then analyze your email and provide you with a detailed report, including information about your DKIM record.
