PHP-Fusion Hosting: A UK Guide

PHP-Fusion Hosting: A UK Guide

PHP-Fusion is a lightweight, open-source CMS with built-in community features (news, forums, downloads) aimed at smaller sites that want this functionality bundled together without assembling separate plugins.

What PHP-Fusion offers

  • Bundled community features: News, forums, and file downloads included in core.
  • Lightweight footprint: Simpler and less resource-intensive than larger CMS platforms.
  • Infusion system: Extend functionality through PHP-Fusion’s add-on system.

What PHP-Fusion needs from hosting

PHP-Fusion runs on PHP with a MySQL or MariaDB database, and being lightweight, runs comfortably on standard shared hosting.

FAQs about hosting PHP-Fusion

Is PHP-Fusion a good alternative to WordPress with plugins?

If you want community features bundled in from the start, PHP-Fusion can be a simpler starting point than combining WordPress with several separate plugins. WordPress has a much larger overall ecosystem, so the choice depends on whether you value PHP-Fusion’s bundled simplicity.

Interesting read, but dont we think Python frameworks like Django or Flask provide more flexibility than PHP-Fusion? I mean, PHP-Fusion is good, but is it really the best option out there?

Interesting read, but isn’t PHP-Fusion a bit dated for today’s dynamic websites? Wouldnt using a more modern CMS offer better functionality and ease of use? Just a thought!
